rustmedia, an award-winning brand + strategy agency, is seeking full time creative talent. Our work doesn’t end with creating killer strategy and design for our clients. rustmedia also develops and distributes a variety of regional lifestyle magazines. These publications range from food and fashion to business and health.

About the role

We are on the search for a Writer—a storyteller and promoter of all things relevant. The ideal person is an excellent communicator, creative thinker and a detail fanatic.

Here’s the exciting part: we are completely re-thinking our publication strategy. That means you will be a part of building and molding each component from day one.

What you'll be doing

• Developing story leads
• Writing or editing up to 30+ stories per month
• Managing and editing freelance writers as needed
• Coordinating photography assignments
• Hitting deadlines like a boss
• Planning the digital strategy for web and social media
• Collaborating with the design and sales teams for final production
• Serving as the brand ambassador and appearing at local events

We're building a tight-knit team, here's what you'll need to be a good fit

• Confidence in your writing and presentation
• 1-2 years of relevant writing, editing or marketing experience
• Experience with social media strategies
• Ability to estimate resources required for a project
• Basic understanding and appreciation of design
• Great organization skills and a proven master of task lists, timelines and reports
• A desire to create change and impact a community
